Making the Makestra is an exhibition by Cissi Tsang, Jean-Michel Maujean & Zal Kanga-Parabia exploring the question, “What other methods are there of musical expression?”

This residency opening is an opportunity to come and celebrate and interact with new instruments, projectors along with enjoying performances by the artists in residence.

Free nibbles and drinks provided.

Opening Celebration:
Thursday, 23 February, 6:00 – 8:00pm
with demonstration tour beginning at 5:40pm.

The Makestra incorporates a DIY mentality to allow participants to explore fundamentals of Sound, Light and Harmony; with emphasis on learning and collaboration.
The exhibition will include:
-3D printed flutes
-Playable plant
-Cymatics via a speaker filled with water,
-3d spectrogram scoring
-Interactive star sonification
-DIY slide projector

All instruments in this exhibition are playable and visitors will be free to play and interact with the support and collaboration of the artists, with the aim of creating new works. No experience necessary.
